Do you have a WaterBOB in your disaster supplies kit?
What is a “WaterBOB”?
A WaterBOB™ is a water containment system that turns any standard bathtub into an emergency water reservoir.

During a hurricane or tropical storm, water main breaks and storms surges can interrupt or contaminate the public water supply. Without clean water for drinking or sanitation, conditions can be life threatening.
We’ve all heard that we should fill our bathtubs with water before a storm. However, most bathtubs have dirt and/or soap film that would contaminate fresh water. In addition, debris and other items could fall into the water, spoiling the water and making it useless.
The WaterBOB™ -- a “Bathtub Oblong Bladder” – is constructed of heavy-duty 10 mil food grade Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) plastic. This material follows and stays within US FDA guidelines to protect your water from contaminants.
It’s very easy to use. Simply lay the WaterBOB™ liner in your bathtub, hook it up to the faucet and fill. We include a siphon pump to dispense the water into jugs or pitchers
Depending on the size of your tub and how much you fill it, the WaterBOB™ can hold as much as 100 gallons and should fill in about 20 minutes, depending on your home’s water flow. The water will stay fresh for 4 to 6 weeks, depending on humidity and temperature conditions.
Be prepared for any emergency with the WaterBOB™. Every household should have several for temporary water storage during emergency situations and after disaster relief. You can use WaterBOB™ in the event of a hurricane, tropical or winter storm, tornado, earthquake or flood. Anytime you have a water main break or flood conditions, the public water supply may be contaminated and unsafe to use. Others uses for the WaterBOB™ include RVs and campers for storage and for homes and cabins in remote areas where it is hard to find fresh water.
The WaterBOB™ is now available through the American Red Cross Polk County Chapter for $35. A portion of the sale price will help support local Red Cross programs and emergency services.
